Subj : perl before swine To : Russell Tiedt From : Maurice Kinal Date : Fri Mar 25 2005 07:50 am Hey Russell! RT> Ah, okay, glx, you say, that is good.... framebuffers even better. RT> Well it would be nice if you could fix the fido stuff, even if RT> minimally. Perhaps. Looking at it as is, and pondering about all messaging - email etc. - it seems to me that a more generic method for local reading/writing would be a better pursuit. I am going to try something later on once I resolve a few more pressing issues. I want to recreate my "stable" partition now that I figured out what I want and need. RT> Would make life a little simpler ... :-) For who? If for myself then there will be wholesale changes. I could easily get rid of the entire FTN structures and make this far more useable. Whoever invented this messaging structure ought to be ashamed. It is almost a silly as Microsoft methodologies, although that is probably a bad comparison seeing MS has so many people duped into thinking their stupidity is required, whereas Fido has diddley-squat in the way of useage. Oh well. No big deal in the final analysis but I am still going to snicker when people call this a hobby. Is that okay? RT>> Duped? MK> Aren't we all? RT> Hmmm .... somehow somewhere .... :-( For sure. A bad joke. Hack, hack, hack, Maurice --- txt2pkt.pl v0.00 Hacking * Origin: Coffin Point - Ladysmith BC, Canada (1:153/401.1) .
