As far as I am aware the module is a standard feature with the regular Perl. Currently I am using 5.8.6 with a few addons centered around enabling XML-RPC functionality. I am still playing with this idea but I think I'll probably recompile Perl for other machines and make those modules part and parcel of the package. Seems like a good idea at this point in time but we want to play some more with it. We have some other ideas for it besides Fido but I think it is fun concentrating on Fido and seeing how we can bring this network up to speed without altering the actual network and letting sleeping dogs lie with all their abandonware they seem to love so much. :-) ts> ruby's time module is very kitchen sink oriented :) I have yet to check ruby out. I am not much of an OO guy. I think I got to used to having to do everything from scratch or having the "right" includes handy. Methinks that is what happens when the options are so limited by the machinery (PC's) and the OS. Unfortunetly there was no Linux back then and I had been tainted by VAX/VMS-think. Tough to shake old habits even after all this time. Having said that, I probably will at least check it out as I am a real sucker for things like that.
