Subj : Pentium II patch for pascal To : Eddy Thilleman From : Ryan de Laplante Date : Sun Oct 12 2003 10:02 pm RdL> EXE. This worked! ET> I don't know this TP7TP5FIX TSR, so I don't know how it works. ET> You can look inside the exe file to determine if it was ET> compiled with Borland Pascal or with Turbo Pascal: ET> search the uncompressed exe file for the strings ET> "Borland" and "Runtime error". ET> If both are not present inside the exe file, then it's ET> not a TP/BP compiled program. ET> If both are present inside the exe file: ET> - if the patch does work, the runtime error should be fixed. ET> - if the patch doesn't work and the program still ET> shows the runtime error 200, there's a good possibility ET> that the program is compiled with non-standard startup ET> code in the CRT unit or that the program is compiled ET> with a different BP/TP version then the patch program ET> is made for. Try other TP/BP patch programs for the ET> runtime 200 error (for another TP version), look in the ET> desciption that accompanies the patch program (if any). ET> Fwiw, I've three different patch programs to fix the ET> runtime error 200 for TP/BP compiled programs: ET> PATCHDEL.EXE 5.104 19-07-1997 2:58 ET> FIX_RUNT.COM 554 02-06-1999 11:16 ET> PATCH200.EXE 5.312 23-01-1998 15:38 ET> There are no doubt more patch programs. Try searching internet. Thanks for the information. I'm not going to bother looking because with the TSR the program works fine and that's all that matters. I've tried several other patches that worked on all other EXE's I've needed them to patch. I'm happy now.
