Subj : TPPATCH fails to recognise file? To : Dan Egli From : mark lewis Date : Mon Oct 15 2001 02:50 pm DE> I was looking over the BBS archives the other day DE> (http://archives.thebbs.org) and found some files I wanted. DE> Downloaded them no prob. However, when I tried to RUN them, I DE> got the infamus RunTime 200 machine (This box is QUITE over DE> 200 Mhz). So I dug out the old TPPATCH.EXE file. Ran it, and DE> the result was that it said these were not TP7/BP7 files. DE> Does anyone know of any other way to fix that? find the patch for TB6/BP6 and maybe even TP5/BP5... 7 isn't the only flavor out there... DE> Was there perhaps a similiar bug in Turbo C/Borland C written DE> programs? If not what do I do? Can I make these programs work? if you can't locate a patch for them, do whatever you can to use CPU time and place a load on the machine to get it "slow" enough to run... i've had some success by keeping on attempting to run problem programs like these... at some point, i "get lucky enough" for the calibration routine to cross the time boundry and give a non-zero value so the program will carry on... )\/(ark * Origin: (1:3634/12) .
