Subj : TPPATCH fails to recognise file?

I was looking over the BBS archives the other day (http://archives.thebbs.org) 
and found some files I wanted. Downloaded them no prob. However, when I tried 
to RUN them, I got the infamus RunTime 200 machine (This box is QUITE over 200 
Mhz). So I dug out the old TPPATCH.EXE file. Ran it, and the result was that it 
said these were not TP7/BP7 files. 

Does anyone know of any other way to fix that? Was there perhaps a similiar bug 
in Turbo C/Borland C written programs? If not what do I do? Can I make these 
programs work?
