Heh...I am just now cleaning up something..well fixing it so it owrks with the new methods some code not a bug just didn't plan it but with a project this huge I'll be doing that alot. SA> Unlike when I first started so many years ago. SA> When I fix something it rarely causes 10 other SA> things to break very rarely. No mine are stupid SA> things like a + for a - in a math equation (like AS> I tend to do that myself. Yeah the old slip of the finger...there are some comilers that autodetect that stuff and let you know sorta like how the MS apps like Word advise you of problems. SA> just added some map controls (directional buttons) SA> to the game and had that kinda thing. I don't test SA> as much as a user would try to break a program SA> so I tend to find things way down the road like SA> I did with a support program for teh game I did SA> a few years ago though just a minor one line of SA> code missing. AS> After coding it, who wants to test it? That's what beta testers are AS> for Yeah that's the theory. Problem is only have a couple of testers. As expected folks don't want to help out until they can get teh finished product. But the way I do things you dont' help you don't get a free copy its that simple. LIke with our old game Tactical folsk would coem out of the woodwork and help when it was done wanting free copies... SA> Oh well...just not enough time to work on code SA> as there used to be like in HS or college where SA> it could be a all day thing. Now it seems I'm SA> lucky to get 2 days a week :<. Oh well, just SA> finished adding Asteriod Field code yesterday SA> that was fun but a bear to get the math right. AS> I can imagine! Oh well I work on alot of things at work :) Course I do work coding at work mostly. BUt between breaks I can tweak code mentally. The other day during a break figured out code for something I've had trouble with ...orbits for objects. But then it hit me I already have the code done in various pieces. Probably the toughest code to do will be formations getting the AI to form the say ship formations and such. Like a jet fighter squadron doing a wedge or a T formation. Simple mentally but the code could be tricky but have soem work arounds I could try..just a long way off...oh well..back to work.. ....
