JB> most of the techniques I suggested won't make an enoumous dent in the JB> relocation requirements Actually not a design problem. Course I could do a bit more efficient use of one or two procs (got almost a dupe but they are so subletly different it matters) but other than that its efficient code down to the dozens of pointers. I was able to fix it simply by ...well actually I don't know:) I think it was a quirk in the compiler. I leave the code tues come back thurs and the erro pops up where it ran fine tues. NO changes. Left the compiler ..few hours returned got it fine just now a overlay error had to move a unit from the overlay list (where it worked previously fine - go figure - gotta figure that one out and its a unit from my toolkit (ie I've not touched teh code at all). My computer likes to play games with me sometimes so I think its just having fun :) Seriously though I might try to work some of the stuff in Delphi and see if its compiler behaves. I also notice settins will randomly falter in the IDE like directories for compilers and such but that's likely 99% user error :) JB> What's the program trying to do and how? Its a game. But probably the most detailed game in history so its going to be rather huge :) Not flashy since I rather have a realistic detail game than just some flashy graphics on a screen and no brain required. JB> How many lines have you written ? Don't know..not at home...but I think the ovr and the exe are at 400k data segment only 24k so far might take that down a bit more with some tricks adn pointers. Just started and barely 3% done :) .... The year of the great war, 2259 - Babylon 5 --- Fringe BBS * Origin: EWOG II - The Fringe - 904-733-1721 (1:112/91) .
