You know, I've been interested in this net for a very very long time.

Query, as i am often at sea, would Familynet allow me to join as an end user 
with no obligation other than to tell my uplink (automated AREAFIX and a 
netmail explaining it) to shut off echos when I am at sea?

My experiences with many 'othernets' is that I have been required to be an RC 
or something due to location (even before moving to Japan).  I would need a 
serious 'geographic exemption' and a *dialup site* that is compatible with 
Japan's NTT wierdies.

Due to technical reasons, I can not be a refeeder of the echos (I am at sea too 
much of the year).  If I can stabilize the link, I think there are some 6-7 
kids (plus my own) who might enjoy access.  Some of them are not all that good 
at english, but what they hey.  I live in Japan so what else would you expect?
