I tend to move most of my netmail into a secondary area, so only new stuff is 
scanned and so forth.  I saw similar slowdowns, and agree that it's a PITA.

Not registerable, but definitely supported in the ARTWARE echo (which is a bit 
light these days).  Tobias Ernst of the FTSC wrote some nice patches for it 
(and timED) to survive Y2K.

Anyways, don't mean to pitch another product here, but this is a workaround if 
anybody needs it, until Peter writes an update. :-)
