Subj : Realplayer opens Netscap To : Rob Basler From : Bob Wright Date : Wed Sep 06 2000 12:31 pm Greetings, Rob... Rob Basler hastily said to Coridon Henshaw: RB> My brother-in-law has @Home, and it has been fast and absolutely RB> reliable for a couple of years. He is apparently the exception as I RB> have heard lots of complaints. He can't really explain it, but he is RB> in a new neighbourhood (new wiring) and has had a number of students RB> who work at the local @Home service department who have "checked" his RB> line and pronounced it good. It is my understanding that there are RB> settings that can be adjusted from the provider end of things to give RB> better performance. He just counts himself one of the lucky ones. I actually considered taking Rogers up on the @home trial that they offered at the PNE (local late-summer/early-fall fair, for those who aren't local to Rob and me)... However, I've heard nothing good about their service, or about their attitude to customer problems, so I've decided I pretty much have to wait for ADSL to be available in my neighbourhood.. Besides, I still need the second phone number for ZMH... :) -- Bob --- GoldED 3.0.1 * Origin: Merlin's Tower - Surrey, BC (1:153/944) .
