Subj : More glitch in SIO? To : Mike Luther From : Bob Jones Date : Mon Sep 23 2002 01:04 am ML> Oops... ML> One of my connect to's signed up with "no-ip.com", ML> sorta like DSN2GO.COM and D2G.COM for service nailed up ML> IP via dialup. ML> Ufff .. Suddenly it looks like VMODEM doesn't like that ML> hyphen in the domain name! I haven't looked at it with ML> PMLN, but no matter what I do I get returned with ML> "Authoritive Host Not Found" and "No Dial Tone" from ML> SIO2K now that this change has been made. ML> Suggestions? How are you "dialing" the no-ip.com address? Via a front end package such as Binkley? If so, the hyphen is being interpreted by that software and translated prior to SIO getting the string.... :( At least that is one of my guesses..... If Binkley, I believe there is a way to escape the "special" characters, but you have to do some string substitutions either in your binkley control file or in your nodelist processor. Take care.....
