Charles Claypoole and I now have the alpha deal working tonight. There is another trick to getting things working if you are forced, as he is, to use a non-standard port. Of course it is Mikey that don't know from moonshine here about compilation of NodeLists, but the way to get VMODEM to pass an alternate port is to define the numeric or alpha dialer string with: hisnode.com\ 60177 But only alter the nodelist alteration of what ever is needed to strip the 011 or 1- that shows up or is put in there in QNODE for example as: 011-hisnode.com hisnode.com 50 I'm sure I'm the last guy on the planet to figure out that the NodeList compiler will only substitute for the LEADING part of the dialer replacement string that way! What it will NOT do, at least here, is accept any form of that \ 60177 as in the example above, as part of the dialing string! The net result of defining the number with the port designation, but not operating on anything but the LEADING part, will still, at least in the case of BINK here, permit you to pass the complete substitute port through the whole dialing process to VMODEM. You get port control with full alpha dialing this way now as well. For what it is worth to anyone who wants the information or didn't know it like Mikey dog here! Solves the use of all this with DNS2GO etc., right nice like now this way. --> Sleep well; OS/2's still awake! ;) Mike @ 1:117/3001 --- Maximus/2 3.01 # Origin: Ziplog Public Port (1:117/3001) * Origin: Baddog BBS (1:218/903) .
