Subj : Port 1872? To : All From : Mike Luther Date : Sat Jan 05 2002 02:33 am What's Port 1872 used for in OS/2's services? The latest IP attack ventures to my OS/2 box for connection establishment took place over Port 1872 and Service for Socket 121 from irc.replay.spray.se in Sweden. Port 1872's TCP log packets look like IRC chat replay broadcasts of some kind. But I don't have any of this installed here. An Apache site at h195n1fls31o1001.telia.com also mounted 108 service via Port 8000 used for IJB. IBJ's attack efforts thrust toward game box penetration. They are related attempts as both go through the same paths, as part of TRACERTE at telia.com. Both blocked now at firewall but I'd like to know what Port 1872 is used for as it is not in the SERVICES file. Thanks ... --> Sleep well; OS/2's still awake! ;) Mike @ 1:117/3001 --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Ziplog Public Port (1:117/3001) .
