Subj : possible netscape fix?? To : All From : mark lewis Date : Sun Jan 21 2001 03:25 pm i'm forwarding the meat of this message to the OS2INET and OS2 echos in the hopes that it might help some who have been having problems with netscape leaking resources bad enough to cause lockups and other failures... it appears that this may be a fix for those running netscape v4.6x ===== snip ===== Netscape also used to be a problem for me until a couple of months ago when I read a suggestion about how to 'fix' Netscape by removing/renaming the file NS46DRAG.DLL in the PROGRAM directory. The purpose of this file is to allow url's to be dragged and dropped directly on a folder instead of just to the desktop. For some reason, however, it also seems to be responsible for causing NS to lock up your system after opening or closing NS 10-20 times. I use NS all day long, so my up-time had deteriorated to about a day or so before my system would hang. Once I got rid of the NS46DRAG.DLL file and rebooted, however, my system stopped hanging and I use NS without without giving it a second thought. I don't know if you have tried this yet but if not, it may eliminate a lot of your problems with Netscape. ===== snip ===== )\/(ark * Origin: (1:3634/12) .
