Subj : and for a real question To : Elwyn Goldsbury From : Peter Knapper Date : Thu Jan 02 2003 10:57 pm Hi Elwyn, EG> my log file for the dial session looks like this EG> + 31 Dec 18:31:02 MAX Begin, v3.01 (task=3) EG> ! 31 Dec 18:31:02 MAX SYS0089: Cannot open com port (handle 3) EG> ! 31 Dec 18:31:02 MAX Communications driver not properly installed EG> + 31 Dec 18:42:54 *LOG Spawning BBS: 115200 33600 3 1440 /Arq/V34/Lapm EG> + 31 Dec 18:42:54 *LOG maxp -b33600 -p3 -n03 - EG> l\bbs\logs\max03.log max.prm I think this may be your prblem right here... The HANDLE number (3) looks to be too low to be a true handle. Maxp 3.01 COM port handle no.'s usually start around 5 or 6 and upwards. A handle of 3 is more like an actual (virtual) COM port no. (COM3). Do you have this value hard coded somewhere? My SPAWNBBS.CMD line used to pass from Binkley to Maximus looks like this - Maxp max -b%2 -p%3 -t%4 -n%TASK% -lMax%TASK%.log -s38400 where -p%3 is the handle for the COM port passed from Binkley. Your telnet node has to do something similar, but using the handle from Vmodem (whatever that might be). Check the Vmodem docs on exactly what is required here. I used to have ">> MAXSP.LOG" appended to the end of that line so I had a log of the actual values passed, but its not currenty on there so I can't advise what actual values I get at the moment. Good luck..............pk. --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Another Good Point About OS/2 (3:772/1.10) .
