anyone care to refresh my memory on Com port numbers and handle numbers 

I have a problem with my 12 year old OS2 BBS   --   ive connected it to 
internet   as I want to give up the dial connection   -- created
a new Maximus window using COM4  and have  SIO /VMODEM   loaded and going
Connection over ethernet using TCPIP   works just fine   with  upload/ download 
/ off line readers etc also   working ok  

BUT   when the above is fired up    my dial users can no longer download their 
mail    --  they fail with  a  message as follows

 D:\Mail\Olr\node03\GENBOARD.qwk D:\Mail\Olr\node03\*.* d:\mail\olr\*"
 20 Dec 22:33:15 MAX  Archiver error (errorlevel 255)"

for some reason the TCPIP   VMODEM   connetion is interfering with the dialed
in user  - if I close down the TCPIP MAXIMUS session  and close down VMODEM
then dial in returns to full function again
