Good point. The H/W is about 3-4 years old and has been rock solid on 384MB RAM 
since new, plus the ONLY app that triggers this issue (so far) is Star Office, 
and it doesn't matter the loading order or memory utilisation, etc. I usually 
have between 280MB and 140MB free depending on what is running, and the machine 
will run for 1-2 months doing all sorts of things without issue, until I use SO 
a second time. Yes it could be a H/W issue, but testing so far does seem to 
suggest something else.

Regarding your 1GM RAM issue, I have heard some people talk of "instability" 
issues with over 512MB RAM, but nothing concrete as to a cause. I struggle to 
consume al of my 384MB, so even if I purchase a new machine, I can't see more 
than 512MB of RAM in it at this stage. But then I don't have a need to run any 
Windows stuff..........;-)
