I know that some of the programs I have been running for years use EMX.
I am not a programmer, so I am not sure what the difficulties would be.
Mainly, since this is run in the background with no user interface,
would it be easier to port than one in which there was direct user
interaction, or am I oversimplifying the process?

Are you referring to InnoTek GCC for OS/2?  I think I'll download it and
take a look.

I tried searching, but didn't see apcupsd.

This is going to force me to try to learn some programming.
