Greetings Prof. Vulcan. <g>

I have run into a few occasions of a log file (Maximus specifically) that have 
been left 'dirty'.  Needless to say, when that happens that particular node of 
the BBS won't spawn.  Is there a method of closing these aberrant files other 
than rebooting the machine?
