Subj : Virus To : IB Joe From : Peter Knapper Date : Mon Aug 01 2005 07:56 pm Hi Joe, IJ> I think I have a virus... Its unlikely to be an OS/2 specific Virus, they are extremely rare... IJ> I cannot seem to get any of IJ> my registration codes to work under OS2... ie frontdoor IJ> DOS exe's work in a DOS window but Under OS2 the OS2 IJ> exe's don't... it craps out and complains about a bad IJ> registration code. Infact, ZOC's registration code IJ> doesn't work either... I don't know how either of those Keys work sorry, but I doubt that its anything to do with a Virus. One possible guess is that both those Apps write their keys to the OS2.INI file, and possibly that file has some corruption that prevents them being recovered correctly. Look at some of the .INI file cleaners to try and tidy them up. Some to try are - CLNINI155.ZIP WPSBK203.ZIP WPTOOL32.ZIP You may find more recent versions around, however WPTOOL is pretty up to date and is one I have dabbled with a bit. All these should be available on Hobbes. Cheers...........pk. --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Another Good Point About OS/2 (3:772/1.10) .
