To use more than 512MB with OS/2, you need Warp 4 FP17, or one of the Convenience Package versions (4.51 or higher). Unfortunately, these are not available unless you have an IBM Passport Advantage account. eComStation (being based on the Warp CP) will also work with more than 512MB. I currently run eComStation 1.2 with CP FP5 on a dual processor P4 Xeon 2.6GHz machine with 2GB of RAM.
