Subj : I'm going to do it! To : Gerald Miller From : Mike Luther Date : Wed Jun 22 2005 11:48 am Gerald .. GM> I just finished spending seven hours trying to install OS/2 Warp 4! (that GM> should give everyone a little chuckle...) I finally powered off, changed GM> the 10GB Fujitsu HDD tray for the DOS/Fidonet HDD tray GM> and called it a day. GM> Somewhere in the basement, I have an OS/2 Warp Server GM> software program. I GM> will have to locate it and see if I can have any better luck with GM> installing the Server software. On the IBM 'free' access web site, there is, or was, an update for the two floppy diskettes which had/have the later drivers needed for use to install OS/2 to later versions of the IBM ThinkPad line. These have the updated versions of the IDE drivers and so on you likely may need. The package was released January 15, 2000, per my files here: WARP4IU.TXT - The read file for this WARP4IU1.EXE - Floppy disk install disk 1 content WARP4IU2,EXE - FLoppy disk install disk 2 content And you have to have the CONFIG.SYS file for the install diskette set to something line SET COPYFROMFLOPPY=ON or something like this. You are trying this way, no? If not, these were (are?) not limited to P/A or SWC access at that time,as far as I know or found out. If you don't have the files and want them, how can we get them to you? Met Mail with attach? Or if they are not on my TELNET Fido BBS here I can sure put them there propertly and you can download them from it? As well, if you are using SCSI disk components, there are also Adaptec device driver changes which can be needed for this. I have all them here and they, too, are *NOT* private updates from P/A or SWC. If you need them we can figure out which ones for which Adaptec card needed. If this is the issue, I also have help for you as to which other drivers you may have to remove from the install diskettes to make room for the larger Adaptec device driver files... Can I help? --> Sleep well; OS/2's still awake! ;) Mike @ 1:117/3001 --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Ziplog Public Port (1:117/3001) .
