That I can understand, I use other OS's when the need arises, but I guess I have a decided preference for something that does what I need painlessly. WH> and I use FORTH when WH> bringing up new hardware designs or developing drivers for them. I have heard several people say that about FORTH, but its not something I have really dug into. My H/W exploits have been very basic interest stuff and I have only really dabbled in a bit of application S/W (IBM Mainframe! and PC), but I also did some interrupt driven, multi serial port, C code as a TSR under DOS many years ago. It was just a simple logging utility for our PABX's, but it did what was needed. WH> It uses the SD memory but I never WH> bothered with a reader - I just use the built-in USB interface to WH> transfer pictures. What S/W did you use for that, Win or OS/2? I am thinkign heading for SD memory because that will probably give me the flexibility I need because I dont have a Windows box to talk to it. WH> If you are like me, 4 out of 5 WH> shots aren't of more than passing interest anyway (and a wife who WH> insists on recording every move the grandsons make when visiting). A big ACK on all that, it must be a common "feature" of the breed.........;-) WH> BTW, it's USB 2.0 but works fine with the 1.1 in the laptop. Yes memory is probaly not a big issue there, it was the portable HD's that I was thinking might benefit from USB 2.0. But I am now starting to think that large (multi GB) memory sticks may even overtake the HD in not too short a time. WH> I keep a Pentax with a bag full of lenses for those increasing rare WH> occasions where I want to revert to the 'photographer mode' for such WH> things as technical layouts and portrait or 'art' work. Sadly my old Pentax has not been used in quite a while now. I have a bunch of lenses from 24mm to 300mm but I was never a great composer of photos, perhaps 1 in 50 was really good. Maybe a digital camera wil re-enable that hobby.......;-) Cheers...........pk. --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: Another Good Point About OS/2 (3:772/1.10) .
