No machine shutdown is required! Just shut down the Requestor/Peer, edit the 
file and restart the requestor -
  Net start
        Will list all currently operating SERVICES like this-
        REQUESTER                MESSENGER                PEER
  Net Stop xxxx
        Stops service xxxx. Stopping PEER also stops REQUESTER.
  Now Edit the IBMLAN.INI file...
  Net Start xxxx
        To Start each service, except START PEER will start PEER and REQUESTER. 


In fact I think you can edit the file first, then NET stop/start to re-read the 
file...

srvhidden = no should be the default anyway, so it may not help unless its has 
been changed to yes...
