Hmmmm, well Ztree is closer to the CLI than the Drives folder. If you like CLI then you probably perfer to NOT use the mouse a great deal, so Ztree would be right up your ally... MP> I cannot find an option to set all drives (or even one MP> drive) to default as "open as list." I do like how that MP> works, though, better than the default. Ahh yes, the non-obvious Workplace Shell options....;-) There is a DEFAULT opening mode for all WPS objects (IE Folders and Files). This DEFAULT is set in the properties of the DESKTOP, change it there and EVERYTHING follows it. I do not recommend you do this......;-). Each object can be individually customised to a particular setting, HOWEVER you can set any PARENT object to propogate its settings down to its Children (provided the child does NOT have a custom setting). There are a number of ways you can approach this - 1. Change each desired folder to the new default mode individually. Takes ages but allows you to customise each folder as you want. 2. Change your entire System to open Folders in LIST mode. I haven't done this one but IIRC, go to Desktop Properties ==> Menu tab ==> Highlight "~Open As" in Available Menus ==> Properties Button ==> Conditional Cascade ==> Default Action ==> Details View. 3. For individual Drives Folders only, open the Properties for EACH DRIVE and follow the Default Properties setting in option 2 above. One thing that may trip this up is if you have individually "customised" the opening of a Child folder, that Child custom setting overides the parent DEFAULT setting...
