Subj : Strange happenings with the LAN To : Sean Dennis From : Peter Knapper Date : Sun Apr 24 2005 01:29 pm Hi Sean, SD> I tried to connect my wife's XP box to the BBS machine SD> for a printer. The printer is my Panasonic, which is SD> connected to my personal Windows 2000 machine with no SD> problems. However, when I try to connect hers to mine, SD> I get this error: SD> "WIndows cannot connect to the printer. No more SD> connections can be made to this remote computer at this SD> time because there are already as many connections as SD> the computer can accept." Dare I say it, that sounds like a Windows problem, not OS/2....;-) If only ONE machine can connect to the printer at a time (try disconnecting the existing machine and see if the other machine can get there), then it sounds like the SHARE for the Resource is not set up to allow multiple connections. From memory, under Windows there is a box that allows you to set the number of concurrent connections for a SHARE. SD> That's kinda weird. No thats fairly normal, a SHARED resource usually has an option that allows you to limit the load that can be imposed on a resource by remote hosts.
