Subj : Starting CMD from BAT - fixed! To : All From : Mike Powell Date : Mon Apr 18 2005 08:38 pm Well, after reading some of the other messages in here, I got to thinking. The BBS BAT file was originally set up in the way that it was because IREX needed to access the same COM port (to dial out) that the BBS was using. So, they could not run together. Everything had to run in order. When I migrated over to OS/2, and started using the OS/2 version of IREX (the BBS program is DOS), this wasn't working. However, with the broadband connection, IREX was using it, and not using the COM port to dial out on. That got me thinking. Really, there was not a need for the BAT file to call IREX. It could run right before the mail event. The mail event would then check for REXBUSY.0 (to make sure it was done), process the incoming mail, and get the outgoing mail ready. A second IREX event could be called a little later to take care of sending the outgoing mail. So, I picked up a copy of CRON/2, got it figured out and running, and everything seems to be fine now. IREX runs & fetches the incoming mail. Then, the BAT file mail event runs. Then, a little later, IREX runs again to send the mail out. CRON/2 calls the IREX CMD files, and the BBS BAT file handles the mail handling. Much better than trying to call the IREX CMD files from the BAT file. ;-) Thanks for the help!
