Subj : Mozilla vs IBM web browser To : All From : Bat Lang Date : Mon Apr 18 2005 04:41 am Since eCS 1.2 comes with IBM Web browser, I have that loaded and it works to my satisfaction...but...I keep hearing good things about Mozilla for OS/2, and since that is a more recent product and appears to have follow-on service (whereas the IBM does not, particularly since I don't have the later IWB update available to me) I would of course prefer to try the Mozilla. BUT...I have been having the worst luck trying both Foxfire and Mozilla. After installation completes, and I reboot, when I click on the Mozilla icon, it briefly gets the 'striped background', then returns to normal, and NADA! If I go to the command line in an OS/2 window, with the current dir \mozilla\ and type 'mozilla' , again NADA. No error msgs, just NADA, as if you hit without having anything on the command line. I even tried the one Mikey recommended from his friends site, with the same result. I even booted to the eCS CDR and ran chkdsk d: /f (no errors detected). I have my Mozilla dir 'paralleling' the IWB installation; ie, D:\PROGRAMS\BROWSER D:\PROGRAMS\MOZILLA Any help with this dilemma would be much grass. Thanks. Good Modeming! /\oo/\ BTW, the last two downloaded versions I have tried are: mozilla-os2-1.7.6-installer-unoff.exe (from Mikey's friend) mozilla-os2-1_8a4-installer.exe (from the Moz site?) =- FidoNet-Mail: 1:382/61 or E-mail: Bat@ccsi.com --- Blue Wave/Max v2.30 * Origin: -=( The TechnoDrome )=- Austin,TX 512-327-8598 33.6k (1:382/61) .
