By "mount a CD-image," I mean mount the image file, which is on the HD, and not the CD itself. My idea was to create images of most of the CDs, so that they could all be accessed online, without a changer. >Its the DOS box, it has "issues" matching the full criteria required for a >true SMB environment. Windows boxes are aware of this and can work around them, >but you can stil run into a few oddities... There is a project, called FreeDOS, where they are trying to replicate DOS with totally free software. Whenever anyone mentions an SMB implementation, they will usually point to what is already available free (the MS programs), and say that it does not need to be done again. I have always felt that it does not work quite right, and a replacement, with bug fixes, would be a lot more than just "redundant." >Most people I know who have done this have migrated DOS machines to OS/2 by >simply running the DOS system in an OS/2 DOS box. Then they convert the BBS >stuff to OS/2 slowly and over time. I would not be converting much of anything. The problem is moving it all over there. There is lots to be moved. ;-) Mike --- * SLMR 2.1a * "Einstein? Who's he? Another troublemaker?" - H.Baines --- GTMail 1.26 * Origin: Kentucky's Capitol City Online * 502/875-8938 (1:2320/105.0) .
