Do you want your grand-grand children to be able to still see those photographs decades later? All digital media are hit by the digital dusk sooner or later, rather sooner. There's no digital or magnetic media that will keep the information intact for more than a few years. You also have to consider the gear that should read those media. For example, if needed, do you still have a computer with which you can read MFM harddisks and/or 5 1/4" diskettes? I'm not only old and/or old fashioned but also experienced enough to know that film negatives and paper printouts are saved intact for decades. My films, books and magazines from 1945 are still in perfect shape. Try that with any digital/magnetic media! Have a nice day, Holger PS. I'm sorry that I have been absent from this and all other echoes since Feb. 15th but that's because my Fido Host has been down. TS. ___ * MR/2 2.30 * Computer Hacker wanted.
