That information is not Tom's research, he is using someone else's report to support his own little theory: that Microsoft's Bloatware is responsible for much of this power consumption. According to him, if we were using more 'efficient' operating systems/software like OS/2 and Linux, the power consumption situation would not be so bad. Perhaps it's not so obvious from just the one 'article,' but Tom's style has so far been rather consistent - he gets one little notion in his mind, barely more than a sentence worth, and somehow manages to fluff it up into a full article. Every time, he spends a few paragraphs off with the fairies, one or two taking pot shots at Microsoft, and the remainder is all about how glorious OS/2 is. Nowhere does he ever offer any evidence of his claims, he seems to think that the 'opinion' nature of the site excuses him from including supporting facts or research. Um, sorry Tom, don't think so. Presenting actual research like the power consumption bit, and then tacking on your own little brain fart doesn't cut the mustard - you have to provide some kind of factual link between the two, before you can go off spouting your opinions. end rant. anyhoo.. his articles are good for a laugh on a slow day. -- Scott Little, 3:712/848@fidonet | slittle@slittle.com --- FMail/Win32 1.48b+ * Origin: Cyberia: You know you want it.
