It is a UNIX clone. Saying it has 'a UNIX foundation' would indicate literally 
that. That would be misleading and incorrect. Linux did not use any UNIX code 
as the basis of his kernel - he duplicated the UNIX style.

MacOS X (and X *only*) has a Mach foundation.
