Hmmm... I wouldn't call it difficult. Try booting without extensions (the Mac equivalent of Win9x's safe mode). See if the Mac comes up and running. Replace the defective extension and reboot. Works 90%+ of the time. If the above doesn't work, boot off the OS CD and reinstall the OS with the option of installing the OS into a new system folder (clean install). Correct the problem and bless the old system folder. Compared to Win9x or WinNT, Mac OS is a breeze to work on.
