This feature was designed for use with Netmail (and later, Internet email)  
areas. For those, it has always been possible. :-) Note that QWK doesn't
support Netmail/Email addressing, so the address book was essentially
useless in QWK.

Anyway, I've just added a new feature for the next version that lets you
call up the address book in any area. This will let you enter only the name
portion automatically in non-netmail areas.
