The *original* author of a program named APoint was Iain Brown back
in the late '80s or early '90s. I'm not sure what the distribution
was -- perhaps only local, but I was one of his Points on an interim
basis.  The version I briefly tried was 1.01 (AIR) and APoint was
never updated AFAIK.  It is certainly not the first time a
non-original name has been used, but I do know Iain's program was
APoint and likely was several years before any subsequent APoint.


.... By all means, let's not confuse ourselves by the facts.
