Subj : Disappearances To : All From : Jim Hanoian Date : Wed Jan 03 2001 07:45 am Howdy everybody, I'd like to apologize for my most recent disappearance. I've been working two full-time jobs lately, trying to make some extra cash (which never seems to work out, eh?) The whole month of December I worked every day, most of them 12 hours, some 14 hour days. Anyway, my clock ran out on December 22nd. My wife took me to the hospital with a 104.8 degree temperature. She tells me I was fairly delirious and resisted her efforts. Luckly, my son was home from college and helped out. The doctors got the temp down and released me that night. I slept most of the day on the 23rd, and woke up with my leg all red and swollen from my ankle to my knee, and the temp was back up. I was admitted on December 24th with a diagnosis of cellulitis. They pumped me full of antibiotics and pain pills (not enough of either) and eventually released me on December 28th. Since then, I've watched my leg return to some semblance of its original size. The redness is gradually receeding, but still shows from my ankle to my calf. Lately, I broke out in hives from a reaction to the antibiotics, so I had to stop taking the pills, wait for the reaction subside (watching my leg get worse) before they would start a new type of antibiotic. This is the first that I've sat in front of my computer in quite a while. So.... here's wishing everybody a Happy New Year. Hopefully it will be better than the last! ....
