Subj : Can't open packet w/MMail To : ALL From : MAX CHAMBERLAIN Date : Thu Aug 03 2000 01:28 pm Okay, I give up. I'm missing something somewhere in configuring MMail. I keep going back to the FAQ and right there at the top it explains why I'm probably getting the "Packet type not recognized" error when opening a qwk packet using Pkunzip. First I downloaded, unzipped, installed and configured (hah!) the mmwin37.zip file. After trying various changes to the mmail.rc file I gave up and tried the mmdos37.zip file. Same problem. The program can find the qwk packets, alright, but I assume it's Pkunzip that can't open them. I've tried changing the names of the command in mmail.rc to Pkunzip and Pkzip and removing the -L and -p that follow the command. I've also coded the entire path for the Pkunzip command. I've even put copies of Pkunzip in every level of the path. The command lines look like: zipUncompressCommand: c:\Program Files\mmdos37\pkunzip -o zipCompressCommand: c:\Program Files\mmdos37\pkzip One thing I am wondering about is how does mmail know that pkzip and pkunzip are the compression/umcompression utilities to execute (as opposed to arj, for example). Does anyone have any ideas? Will be glad to furnish more info as needed. Thanks.
