Subj : Drugs Rant To : All From : Moebius Date : Mon Jun 25 2001 01:31 pm The Moon was red, making Larry Eggers ask Rachel L. Akers, "Is this a bad sign?" RA>> The whole thing has started me RA>> thinking. How does anyone/everyone feel about drug use in ritual? LE> There are some cultures that still use drugs (mostly special occasion) LE> in some of their rituals...vision quests, etc. I'd have to agree that it depends entirely upon the circumstances over whether the drug is part of the ritual. If it is, and it's well controlled, it's along the lines of personal privacy, IOW none of an outsider's business. If it's not, that splits into two - prescription or recreational. In this scenario, I'd have to say no way in I'd want to work with anyone who wasn't completely focussed. there's just too much at stake to be impaired in any way. After the ritual, obviously, is another story, but then we get involved with law enforcement, which is another reason not to be involved with this person. We have enough problems without being busted for drugs, right? I'd have to say they'd have to leave until they got themselves straightened out, in whatever instance. Impairment - in some circumstances - can kill. Read the papers, and you'll get an indication. Nancy Reagan was right when she said "Just say no." Moebius .... Witches heal! Witches speak!
