Or we can choose love. Love is not safe. It is the single most misunderstood word in the English language, in my opinion, save possibly for the word, 'God.' If our life is about protecting ourselves, then we will be protected. But is that to live at all? It is but to stay 'safe' till one dies. Is that a life? Love means to chance the wounds and scorn that others will give us. Love is to be open, not cynical but vulnerable, and let the universe penetrate us, enter into what we are, and take the chance. Is it frightening? Yes, it is. But do we throw away the very meaning of life for safety? "Teach only Love, for That is What You Are." (A Course in Miracles) The Meditation Tip of the Week - June/16/2001 ------------------------------------------- Meaning to get a way from intellectualization and avoid word traps, I sailed across the sea to search for the transmission beyond the teachings; went on pilgrimages till my sandals broke ƒÕÿ and found water in the clear stream, the moon in the sky. Kakua Robin: Too do we not get caught in our 'thinking?' We have been told we can 'understand' Reality.... The joy that is our very nature, we overlook in our quest for understanding. But we give up so much for so little... To 'wake up' is just to stop being lost in the dream, so simple, so hard to convey. If our dream is a nightmare, is there any sense at all in clinging to it? Or does awakening have the appeal for which our dream-selves have yearned, often in despair? It is not our senses, but the ONE who is behind and beyond all senses, that very ONE who will let us out of the snares of dream and into the glory of a new daybreak, one where we stand together as equal children of Infinity.. Doctrines and dogmas count for nothing. It is the coming to wakefulness that lends wings to our feet and joy to our minds. --- Msged/2 4.00 * Origin: Elfwhere - The POINTy eared POINT (3:640/531.2379) .
