Rai -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [mlm-list] Comments on Daily Wisdom and Meditation 6/14/2001..A Space Oddyssey Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2001 19:42:20 EDT From: Gaiarobin[chomp]com Preface: I comment on these little meditation tips and quotes as a Pagan, in the sense that Plato, Pythagoras, Socrates, Appolonius, Lao Tzu, Kung Fu Tze (Confucious), Shankara, Gautama and many many more were Pagans. It is false to assume that all Pagans are worshippers of the immanent; history shows otherwise. The Hermetic teachings antedate Christianity and maybe Judaism in their roots. Sometimes we need, I feel, to rediscover some of the ancient Pagan ways that are not only 'howling in the woods,' but are culture and sophistication and philosophy, a term coined by the Pagan, Pythagoras, that means 'the love of wisdom.'. So, some may feel these don't belong on a Pagan list, or one where most are Pagans. Respectfully, from what I wrote above, I disagree. "I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much. "-- Mother Teresa From Bruce in the Pacific North West Robin: If we cannot handle the word 'God,' then substitute 'Goddess,' 'Buddha,' Krishna,' 'Infinite Being,' or whatever you wish. The universe supplies us with challenges. These are opportunities to discover just how powerful and loving, wise and knowing we are. So, I think the Infinite does indeed trust us, because He/She/It/They know(s) us pretty well... meditationtip@yahoogroups.com The Meditation Tip of the Day - June 14, 2001 -------------------------------------------- Do not dwell on what is past and what is to come, but live in the world of the present. One has to always understand the "now" and perceive all the wonderful things. Tsai Chih Robin: Beware of making 'now' into a doctrine, forcing yourself dogmatically to struggle with the 'past' or the 'future.' These concepts too are a part of 'Now.' Your memories are with you 'now' and your projections into the 'future' are here and now as well. You don't have to 'try' to 'be here now.' You already are, and there's no place or time apart from the here and now. We can relax...let go and enjoy the sweet and precious moment of eternity as it constantly changes form.
