We've heard it before, even seen it in our lives. But gloom and doom seem all about us when they are what we perceive or imagine. But, haven't we noticed how things change? Or would we prefer to see devastation and not salvation in our subjective universe(s)? If nothing else, the constant invocation of the "fight or flight" response will dull us to when or if something truly dangerous is happening, exhaust our energies and leave us numb. meditationtip@yahoogroups.com The Meditation Tip of the Day - June 13, 2001 -------------------------------------------- Life in itself is an empty canvas, it becomes whatsoever you paint on it. You can paint misery, you can paint bliss. This freedom is your glory. Osho Robin: One of my ancestors, a Scottish lowlander by the name of John Knox, was a devout 'Calvinist.' To them the argument about if we are predestined or have free will was the stuff of which to base a war. It may be that predestiny and free will are not different at all. With our own free will we predestined what will and has 'happened' in our lives, we have been the God of our realities, and we have thence been unable to escape the script we wrote. How great is our power! Each of us, then, is a master playwright, one who just happens too to be the 'star' of the story and all the cast members as well. We are the director of the play and all those in the audience also. And, when it's over, all the heroes and villains alike will take a bow before their very selves for applause, as the point of the plot wasn't that good will win and evil lose; it was to entertain. --- Msged/2 4.00 * Origin: Elfwhere - The POINTy eared POINT (3:640/531.2379) .
