The problem is that it's sooooo similar to a particular Simpson's episode that I first thought it was a joke. Then I realsied that the apes _can_ be that myopic. Construction site up north in the tropics a few years ago. Local council actually paid a struggling local artist to paint murals on the boards, & yep one of the images was Michelangelo's David - conservatively painted from my POV. He was publically ordered to paint on a swiming costume. The image still crops up as a laughing point, usually on postcards where the buyers probably don't have a clue of the story...
