Then again, those "yank bashers" more than likely haven't lived in the US.

I've travelled a lot: lived in West Germany, Italy, England, Belgium, France 
and Mexico, as well as simply taking trips to everywhere.  I do have to say 
that it's very nice to get out of the ol' USA for a while.  But, I will say in 
the same breath that I love my country.  There are unique opportunities here 
that are available nowhere else as that can be said for each other country out 
there too.

For those who rank the US as a third-world country, it's just showing their 
very apparent ignorance.  Yeah, we've got our problems, but so does every 
country.  We just seem to go out on a grand scale when we screw up, heh.

I'm proud to be an American.  You should be proud to be a citizen of your 
country too and show respect for others by not "bashing" other countries.  
That's pretty sad.  However, there are a lot of moronic Americans that don't 
realize that there's a world outside of the US (per your comments quoted 
above).  Those people deserve all the hell they can handle. ;)

I can't say anything for the government here... but, I'll keep those opinions 
to myself. :)
