Do you have a hard copy reference for that??? ... MG> I have it, or have seen it. Dmaned if I can remember which book MG> in my now stored archives contained the references... It happens. I'll just have to keep my eye open. I'm really interested in finding, or at least tracking to a source, some solid facts. I've just picked up an .. er .. interesting book which unfortunately combines several UK "modern" witches with those accused of witchcraft from the 1300 - 1700ish period. If one ignores this querk, the book is interesting in that the European witchhunts were only _slightly_ different from the UK & USA ones & that could be explained by a number of reasons [ like the author only could use examples translated to english (etc) ] There is no comments refering to the "bibical" quote. Which may tend to downplay the significance of the translation in the UK. Which suggests the accusation may have primarily been one of social &/or political control rather than spritual purges - at least before the Inquision of course Rai --- Msged/2 4.00 * Origin: Elfwhere - The POINTy eared POINT (3:640/531.2379) .
