Subj : Maya (a Poem) To : All From : Rachel L. Akers Date : Wed Nov 29 2000 12:27 am Maya A dream can be fearful or joyful. It can seem to contain a past from which we run It can seem to portend a future, which we dread We can go to school and learn about the world Study it and fill ourselves with knowledge It is only a dream We can cling to the past in the dream. We can anticipate the joys for which we hope We can plan ahead for what must be coming Or consider the things we think we have learned And still it is we never seem to notice It is only a dream. A dream may seem to have a cast of characters And we seem to be ourselves in the scene But each of these beings is the same Including the one we think we are They and we are only characters in a dream It is only a dream Are any in the fantasy real? Are we real ourselves? The ones we seem to fear The ones we seem to love Are they and we a part of the dreamer? Or are none more than a moving picture show Illusion and phantasm It is only a dream ROBIN GOODFELLOW November 2, 2000 .. --- Msged/2 4.00 * Origin: Elfwhere - The POINTy eared POINT (3:640/531.2379) .
