This indicates that the server is using all the available physical memory for hashing the DET and FAT, or maybe for running NLM's, and has none remaining for caching purposes, which badly affects disk performance. Try doubling your RAM for starters, and see what happens. Without knowing how much disk space you have attached to the server I can't give more accurate recommendations than that.
