Ouch, Picky...Picky..... >I wonder if since this is a private network I can >beat those rules on here. I've seen posts for years here in the echo that were asking to sell their versions. The former moderator (Frank Ramsey), here dropped from the face of the planet, was a certified Novell CNE, and thus disallowed such posts. The present moderator (David Bowerman), probaly would not care. So go ahead and post. I was using v3.11 then it became oboslete, and needed to be upgraded, because of not being Y2K, however I didn't have the big bucks to go to version 5.0 so I asked in this echo and was able to buy for a low low price v3.12 100-user, ($90.00), that guy bought a new version 5.0 and he was filfy-rich :-) I'm running my BBS on 3 each 386/40's with 2mb RAM each and a 40mb HD each, with just DOS v6.22 ....... The Server is a Older, Pent-90 with 64mb RAM, 2 hard drives, one HD 6.2gb, has the BBS files, while the 165mb HD has Novell software. All tied into a HUB with CAT-5 Cables. The BBS Software (Searchlight v5.1) is a DOS based system. With me being Retired and Disabled, and on Social Security Disability, I just could not afford a big bucks program :-) Regards, Paul Casey --- SLMAIL v5.1 (#SLO409KEDG15G098) * Origin: Paul's Waka Waka BBS 206-783-7979 Seattle, Wa.
