I had a similar problem, as I run a BBS on the server and I keep the message areas on the server When new messages arrive it would take ages to complete, and I found the problem to be the delete function on the server. Novel keeps all the deleted files so your hard disk is aways full I have set the server to purge the deleted files right away and not to keep them I have not had a problem with the server since and found a 100 percent increase in speed. The only problem I now have when a deleted file is deleted it is gone for good. I also set the compress option to compress after seven days set the time for that function, when it is least used, onece a day and all works fine now :) I run OS/2 , Windows 98 and NT. Try to change some of the settings for delays from the Factory settings and whako the server runs like a rocket :) Cheers Harry --- Maximus/2 3.01 * Origin: STARBYTE@AMI.COM.AU Perth 61-[08-9458-1255] (3:690/416) .
