Subj : drive mapping problems To : All From : Leonard Erickson Date : Sun Oct 15 2000 04:56 pm I've got tywo different problems with drive mapping on a Win95 box using the latest Novell client. The server is running Netware 3.11. First of all, drives Z: and Y: are getting mapped (to SYS:PUBLIC, and to SYS:PUBLIC\\\ respectively) even though there's no user login script and the system login script has no map statements for those drives. This means that when the client tries to map them when windows starts, I get this stupid prompt that I have to answer. Second, when I open a DOS or 4dos Window, some of the drives that are automatically attached by the Windows client are either mapped to the root directory, when they should be pointing to a subdirectory, or they point to the right directory but you can't CD from that directory. Or *both*. I have to re-map them in the DOS window. And since opening a second window may result in *different* messed of mappings, I have to open *all* the windows I intend to use, and then check the mappings in each one *by hand*. I suspect the problem is with NETX as I've had similar symptoms on a DOS box on the same LAN. --- FMailX 1.59b/beta * Origin: Shadowshack (1:105/51) .
