Subj : 7.1 needs MSVCRT40.DLL ? To : ALL From : THURSTON ACKERMAN Date : Tue Oct 07 2003 05:46 pm This is a CORRECTION to earlier posting citeing CRT40.DLL rather then the more correct file MSVCRT40.DLL !!!! During installation of netscape 7.1 (with Sun Java) on my CompUSA Work Series 550 with windows98se, an Alert error box pops up in mid screen reporting "Required c:\WINDOWS\System\MSVCRT40.DLL could not be found". Pressing "NEXT" proceeded to finally report successfull installation. But after booting the system off and restore, the version 7.1 won't boot up from the desktop icon nor from the \Start\Programs\Netscape 7.1 box. I ran Find on my Aptiva300 backup system (that has a successfull installation of Netscape 7.1 working) for the "MSVCRT40.DLL" file, but it wasn't found (nor was it found on my main desktop Systemax-Tiger box 8-( N.B. The CompUSA WorkSeries box already has a trusty Netscape 4.77 and much used Mozilla 1.4 all presently working ok. Why is the MSVCRT40.DLL causeing this trouble for the attempted version 7.1 in the CompUSA WorkSeries ?
